2 injured after Lake Guntersville boat crash

GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Marine police say a simple case of not paying attention caused a boat crash on Lake Guntersville that sent two people to the hospital.

Marine police believe 61-year-old Robert Quick of Locust Fork ran into another bass boat driven by David McKinney of Boaz on Saturday.

Quick and his passenger, James Love of Pell City, were ejected.

Quick and McKinney have been released from Huntsville Hospital, but Love's condition is unknown.

McKinney suffered a concussion and said he does not remember the accident.

"I remember leaving here and putting in at Brown's Creek and catching a big fish.  Next thing I know, I was in the hospital," he said.

Marine police said both drivers did have a boating license.

McKinney, meanwhile, said he plans to continue fishing in the future, despite his accident.
