MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WAFF) -
Monday evening's special called meeting was standing room only.
The Muscle Shoals school board voted to enter into contract negotiations with Superintendent Dr. Jeff Wooten.
The board's president and vice president will meet with him to create a contract up to a year.
Dozens showed up in support of Wooten.
"I'm just very humbled by all the visits, the phone calls, the emails, the text messages that I've received in support. It's just very humbling. I don't know how to explain it, just very humbling," Wooten said.
Once the contract is complete, it will be up for public vote.
