Shoals Ambulance Service will now serve both Florence city and Lauderdale County.
The county commission accepted a new contract with SHAOS on Monday.
The Florence city council approved it last week.
It will replace Lauderdale EMS, which has served the city for the last four years.
Shoals Ambulance said it will be prepared to take over coverage for all of Lauderdale County, including Florence city, in 60 days.
