HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Some Tennessee Valley kids celebrated a once-in-a lifetime trip into the world of space.
Thursday, 50 students from Chaffee Elementary school graduated from Space Camp.
"It means so much to them. They have learned so much. I've talked to the teachers and the students. The science, the technology that they can implement in the classroom immediately, it's been amazing," said principal Sanchella Graham.
The Huntsville Elks Lodge paid for the kids trips through a special fund created after former Elks Lodge leader, Elmer Hargis, died in 2010. Normally a session of Space Camp for one student would cost almost $780.
