DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
A Morgan County judge approved a request for a mental evaluation and set a trial date for one of the three Krystal murder suspects.
Jordan Creque, Ezekiel Gholston, and Cassandra Eldred are charged with capital murder. Investigators say they shot and killed Jessie Aguilar and Jeff Graff while robbing the Decatur restaurant.
An attorney for Jordan Creque requested a mental evaluation for his client. According to court documents, Creque's mother claims her son fell out of a tree as a child and landed on his head. The document goes on to say the head injury went untreated possibly causing "significant psychological, neurological, and/or developmental deficiencies".]
Creque's attorney also says his client does not appear to appreciate the charges or potential consequences.
The judge signed off on the mental evaluation. The judge also set an April 29 trial date for Creque.
