Hearing date set for man accused of robbing several banks

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

The man accused of robbing four banks in Morgan County will appear in court on March 11th.

Police arrested Joe Guthrie on the side of South Memorial Parkway in Huntsville following the February 13 robbery at People's Bank in Lacey's Spring.

Investigators say Guthrie also robbed the Eva Bank, Premiere Bank in Eva, and People's Bank in Somerville.

Guthrie is in the Morgan County jail on a $1.2 million bond.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
