HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A man who fell off a bridge near Spring Branch Creek on Bob Wallace Avenue has died.
Search and rescue workers pulled Darron Gene Putnam from the water at the intersection of Bob Wallace and Mirabeau around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
A witness told police he saw the man walking near the edge of the bridge, trip and fall onto the concrete before landing in the water.
That witness said he believes Putman hit his head on the concrete before going into the water.
Officials said the death was accidental.
