COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Colbert County man accused of murder and trying to hire a hit man will appear in court on Wednesday.

Derek Burt faces several counts of capital murder for the shooting death of Harry Ricks in 2008.

Investigators said after his arrest, Burt tried to hire a hit man to kill two members of the Ricks family.

Burt will be arraigned on the solicitation of murder charges on Wednesday.
