LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
State Troopers are investigating a deadly wreck that resulted from a high
speed chase in Lawrence County.
Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle on Alabama 24 east of Moulton around 9
p.m. When deputies check his identification, he sped off.
The driver, 30-year-old Gregory Johnson, led deputies on a pursuit. They
lost track of him but then saw tire tracks going off the road and found the
vehicle.
Troopers said Johnson lost control and went off the roadway near County Road
33. He was ejected and died at the scene.
A 5-year-old girl was also in the car. She was injured, treated and
released.
