Pierre Part man arrested for child molestation and rape

PIERRE PART, LA (WAFB) -

Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack reports that a 32-year-old man was arrested Thursday after he was accused of sexually molesting two girls who were 7 years old at the time.

Nicholas Vaughn of Pierre Part, LA was arrested and charged with two counts of child molestation and aggravated rape.

He is booked in the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office Detention Center on a $600,000 bond.

This matter remains under investigation.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
