DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) -
The CBS affiliate in Dothan, Alabama announced Friday that it was mourning the loss of its news director, Jeff Raker.
WTYV-TV said Raker died Friday morning at Flowers Hospital. They released the following statement on their website:
"We lost a friend and a member of our WTVY family today. Jeff Raker passed away this morning at Flowers Hospital. Jeff was a good man. He loved his family. His wife Darcy, his son Zachary and his daughter Alyssa have lost a precious part of their lives today. Darcy told us that Jeff loved this place. We will miss him and we will do our best to continue to make him proud. At this point we do not know about any arrangements. I am sure Jeff would tell you to make sure you let those in your life that mean something to you know how you feel today. Our time here is short. That was reiterated to us yet again today."

According to DothanFirst.com, Raker collapsed shortly after arriving at the station Friday morning. He died of an apparent heart attack.
