Winchester, TN (WAFF) - The Franklin County, Tennessee Sheriff's Office is sounding the alarm about a potential scam in the community.
According to investigators, there have been several reports from citizens about unknown people approaching homes, asking if they'd be interested in having their driveway paved at a low rate. When the job is done, the homeowners are given a bill that's much higher than the agreed upon price.
If someone contacts you at home and asks about paving your driveway and you are not familiar with them or their company please contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office or your local police department immediately. These individuals are reported to be driving red trucks. Please be mindful of this fraudulent activity and report any suspicious situations to your local law enforcement authorities at (931) 967-2331.
