BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Mayor-President
Kip Holden is responding to the latest round of accusations floating around his
decision to suspend and potentially fire Police Chief Dewayne White.
Holden said
it was a pattern of behavior that led to his staff's recommendation that White
be fired.
"This
has been going on for a while and I didn't want to rush to judgment, but when
you see a pattern of things evolving, the case you then make to the people is a
lot more solidified because you've seen this pattern over and over again,"
Holden explained.
The Baton
Rouge Police Union supports the mayor's decision, but Thursday the Magnolia
State Peace Officers released a statement in support of White.
The chief
and mayor will sit down on Monday for a hearing concerning the chief's future.
The chief requested that meeting be open to the public.

more on this controversy later in the day.
