GADSDEN, AL (WAFF) -
A 52-year-old woman told Gadsden Police she was robbed at gunpoint in the 1300 block of Chestnut Street around 1 a.m. Thursday morning.
The woman said she was getting out of her car when she saw a man and a woman running toward her demanding her purse.
As she tried to run away, she heard four gunshots. The man eventually caught up with her and hit her in the head twice with a handgun.
She said she tried to fight him off, but he took her purse, which contained credit cards and $120 cash, and ran away.
The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
