A jury reconvened in Huntsville Thursday and convicted a man accused of capital murder.
Wilbert Smith murdered two Alabama A&M Students in 2008. BJ Peterson and Ronnie Pugh were found tied up with duct tape and shot at a home on Hester Lane.
Prosecutors presented evidence from the grisly crime scene during testimony earlier this week. They said DNA tests show blood found at the crime scene was Smith's.
Smith's lawyers said that isn't proof that he pulled the trigger and shot the men.
This isn't the first time Smith has faced murder charges. In 1998, he pleaded guilty to a drive-by shooting in Montgomery that left a teenager dead.
Smith will serve two life sentences in prison without parole.
