DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) -
An alert from Denham Springs Police Department was sent out Wednesday afternoon advising of possible road closures Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
Denham Springs Police say they anticipate closing River Road at Benton due to flooding.
They suggest taking alternate routes.
The flooding comes from heavy rains in Mississippi and north of the Greater Baton Rouge area.
According to USGS, the Amite River in Denham Springs surpassed the flood stage.
