DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
The attorney for one of the three people charged in connection to the 2011 murders at the Decatur Krystal restaurant wants the court to order a mental evaluation.
In the motion for a mental evaluation, the defense states Jordan Creque does not appear to appreciate the charges or potential consequences.
According to court documents, Creque's mother claims her son fell out of a tree as a child and landed on his head. The motion claims the head injury went untreated. The document states Creque may have "significant psychological, neurological, and/or developmental deficiencies".
Creque's attorney says his client has reported auditory and visual hallucinations while in jail.
Creque, Ezekiel Gholston, and Cassandra Eldred are charged with capital murder. Investigators say they shot and killed Jessie Aguilar and Jeff Graff while robbing the restaurant.
