In the aftermath of the successful raid on the bunker where Jimmy Lee Dykes was holding 6 year old Ethan the nation learned that a critical part of the rescue was the successful disarming of the explosive devices around the bunker. What everyone didn't learn was that the only place in the country where FBI and law enforcement agents can become certified bomb technicians is right here on Redstone Arsenal. Running a full scale model city loaded with explosives isn't without tremendous risk. But it is a risk the men and women who run the training center take on every day with the knowing that the risk comes with the tremendous reward of saving innocent lives. It isn't just the bomb technicians we should be proud of. Instead of driving past the base on 565 and not giving it a second thought, we all need to take a little more time to acknowledge the amazing work being done in our area for our nation's defense against internal and external enemies.
