BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Baton Rouge Police are investigating an alleged assault on one of their officers following the Spanish Town Parade.
BRPD spokesman Lt. Don Kelly said 18-year-old Christopher Hensley was arrested after he punched a female officer in the face. The officer was attempting to break up a fight between the suspect and another man.
It happened around 2:45 p.m. near the intersection of Florida and Lafayette Streets.
The officer was treated and released from the hospital for minor injuries, Kelly said.
Hensley was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with Battery on a Police Officer.
