A single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon claimed the life of a Selma man. The crash occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Alabama 21 one mile south of Selma.
James Earl Stratman, 52, was driving a 1986 Chevrolet S-10 when he ran off the road and struck a utility pole.
Stratman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Although the crash is still under investigation, Alabama State Troopers say alcohol was a factor.
