State grant money is helping to replace tress in some of the hardest hit areas during the April 27th tornado outbreak.
Thirty-three trees have been donated to the city of Phil Campbell by the group Canopy of Design.
Started by a group at Auburn University, the program will teach local communities about planting and maintaining large plants.
City leaders say the trees will be placed at the new park, housing authority and ball field.
"They get reminded everyday by looking at the trees that were damaged and the trees that are missing the tops, so being able to plant trees is going to give them something to look at that's a little more aesthetically pleasing and help to lift the spirit of the community," said Chris Becker with Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
The group will also plant trees in Cullman, Lawrence, Madison and Limestone counties.
