HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A Westlawn Middle School administrator was arrested over
the weekend on DUI charges.
Huntsville Police reported Collas Washington was stopped
near South Side Square around 2:30 a.m. for improper lane usage.
He was arrested on DUI, improper lane usage and violation of mandatory liability vehicle
insurance charges.
Washington
is an assistant principal at the school.
Huntsville
City School officials said he will not face any punishment.
"Mr.
Washington self reported to administration within 24 hours after the incident.
He has entered a plea of not guilty. Since the incident is
unrelated to the district and is without any connection to the school system,
Mr. Washington will continue his duties at the school,"said
school representative Keith Ward.
Washington will appear in municipal court April
25.
