KNOXVILLE, TN (AP) -
Underage drinking charges against the last five University of
Tennessee students charged in a case that got national attention have
been adjudicated.
The students - all members of the now-disbanded Pi
Kappa Alpha fraternity chapter at UT - were found guilty on Thursday.
According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, if the students pay court costs and don't get into trouble for 30 days, the charges will be cleared.
The incident on Sept. 22 came to light when
fraternity member Alexander P. Broughton was brought to the UT Medical
Center by fraternity brothers. He was unconscious and doctors measured
his blood-alcohol level at 0.448%. Physicians called police when they
found anal injuries.
A fraternity member later told police students had been ingesting wine rectally. Broughton has denied doing that.
