DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
Decatur Police arrested a man they said raped a 9-year-old
child.
Police received a report from DHR in April of 2012 regarding
the rape of a young child.
Investigators developed Jarvis Cortez Petty as a suspect.
The case was presented to the Morgan County Grand Jury and an indictment was
issued for Petty's arrest.
Petty was located at his home and arrested.
Police said Petty was 17 at the time of the crime, but he was
charged as an adult with first degree rape.
