FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
A Lauderdale County judge set a February 15 bond hearing for a man accused of making child pornography.
Matthew Ayers, and his wife Patricia, are charged with child pornography, sexual abuse and rape. Both have bonds set at $1-million dollars.
An attorney for Matthew Ayers filed a bond reduction request stating Ayers cannot make the set bond amount. The motion requests bond be reduced to "an amount he can reasonably make".
Court documents state electronic equipment found at the couple's home on County Road 298 contained numerous pictures of a young girl being molested.
Those documents state Matthew Ayers was the individual performing the sexual acts on the child.
The bond reduction hearing will take place at the Lauderdale County Courthouse in Florence.
