Bar shooter arrested on drug charge

SCOTTSBORO, AL (WAFF) -

Jackson County drug agents arrested two people for possession of drugs after a traffic stop on Veterans Drive in Scottsboro.

One of the suspects pleaded guilty assault charges for shooting four people at a bar in Bridgeport in 2009.

Jackson County investigators say they found marijuana packaged for resale along with hydrocodone during the traffic stop.

The driver, Christopher Allen Kerr, Jr., is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation. He is being held without bond.

The passenger, Kandace Jordan Thompson is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Thompson is out of jail on bond.

Bridgeport Shooting

Kerr shot four people after a bar dispute in Bridgeport.

It happened at Fat Boys in 2009.

Kerr pleaded guilty to assault charges. He was given a 17-year split-sentence and was ordered to serve 370 days.

The sentence included five years of supervised probation after his release from custody.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
