By now you have probably heard the story of a Lauderdale County football coach caught on tape bashing the first lady and homosexuals to a group of children. Because there is audio, there is no doubt as to what he said, "fat butt Michelle Obama, you can look at her and tell she is overweight, big fat gorilla, (laughter)" And at some points it seems clear he realizes it his views are not something he should be discussing with kids.... But he doesn't seem to care and doesn't limit his rant to his thoughts about the first lady "you can get pissed at me or not, you can tell the principal, you can call the superintendent and tell her, I don't like queers." We have heard what the coach thinks, but what does the district think? Is this something they condone? In my view Coach Grisham can say what he wants to his family and friends. Saying it to a group of students is not acceptable. Before our area looks, and before others get the idea that talk like this is acceptable from teachers and coaches, action needs to be taken.
