To either keep or fire Carol Wicks as Director of Animal Services will be a decision made by the city council. If it comes to that, it would be put on a Decatur City Council meeting agenda for further review. So far, it is not on the agenda for their next meeting on Sep 2. If the issue comes before the city council, that's when we hope to find out why Mayor Kyle decided to put Wicks on paid administrative leave. He will not comment on it, saying he cannot talk about a pending personnel issue. MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

One person is in custody after a bank robbery in Madison.

BancorpSouth on Hughes Road was robbed just before 10 a.m. Investigators said an individual demanded money at the bank at 41 Hughes Road and got away with cash.

That subject fled to a home Mallard Cove Drive where he was apprehended by police. The money and a firearm were recovered inside the house.

Antonio Drake was arrested and booked into the Metro Jail on $60,000 bond on first degree robbery charges.

Drake does not live at the home on Mallard Cove Drive, but was visiting a friend who was not involved in the crime.

The suspect is no stranger to the law.

In January 2008, Drake robbed the North Alabama Bank branch on Winchester Road, then fled into the Flint River. An Alabama State Trooper working on a stalled vehicle saw him and helped track Drake down.

He was convicted in that case, and sentenced to 65 months in prison. Court records show he was recently released.
