SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Shreveport Police believe that have recovered the getaway car used in the robbery of a West Shreveport bank Tuesday morning, where a woman was briefly taken hostage and at least one shot was fired.
It happened at the Capital One Bank in the 6100 block of Greenwood Road shortly after 9 a.m.
Police say one of the two gunmen grabbed a customer as he entered the bank.
"She was standing just outside of the business. He grabbed her, went in the bank with her, immediately let her go, fired a shot in the air and then he declared that this was a robbery."
No one was injured. The gunmen are still on the run, but a vehicle matching the description of the one police believe was used as the getaway car has been found less than three miles away.
Police were looking for a burnt orange 2011 Dodge Challenger with a white stripe at the bottom and no tags in connection with the robbery. They say neighbors in the area of Jefferson Paige Road and Sandra Drive reported a strange car parked behind a vacant house in the 5800 block of Jefferson Paige around 11 a.m. There was no one in the car.
This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
