COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. today for northwest Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.
Northwest Alabama will likely see more of a freezing rain/sleet mix while southern Tennessee sees more of a sleet/snow mix.
Bridges, overpasses, and some county roads are icing due to sleet and snow including Memorial Parkway, I565, Oneal Bridge, Patton Island Bridge and Wall Triana.
By lunchtime, conditions will rapidly improve as temperatures warm above freezing. A second system will bring the region a chance of some rain showers this evening. Highs will be in the mid 40s. Sunday will be dry, under mostly sunny skies, and a tad warmer with highs near 50°. More sunshine and mid 50s are expected Monday.
