RUSSELLVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Crews in Franklin County spent the last 24 hours digging in a yard, looking for a body.
Investigators said they have reason to believe a baby was born inside the home on Wilson Avenue and Hunterwood Road and later buried in the yard.
Police started clearing the scene just before 4 p.m. Friday.
Investigators said they have collected and bagged evidence and will send it off to forensics for further investigation. Exactly what it is they've collected is unknown at this time.
Crews brought cadaver dogs back out on Friday and used ground penetrating radar to search the yard. Both methods indicated there was something in the ground.
Police said they have done all they can do at this point in the investigation.
They said they are still questioning people believed to have connections to the house in hopes they can shed some more light on the case.
