MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A Morgan County deputy was injured after a vehicle crashed into the yard of a home following a chase.
The crash was the result of a traffic stop that turned into a chase. Officials said the driver, Benton West, was doing 75 in a 45 mile zone.
West led officers on a chase. He hit two deputy vehicles before crashing into a yard on Apple Grove Road near Highway 231.
Officials said the vehicle was a stolen truck out of Madison County. Stolen items were also found in the truck.
West was taken into custody at the scene. He was charged with two counts of attempted assault, reckless driving, speeding, attempting to elude, and driving under the influence. He's being held in the Morgan County jail without bond.
