Ala. man recaptured after escaping courtroom

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Mobile County Sheriff's officials say a teen who escaped from a courtroom and eluded authorities has been recaptured.

AL.com (http://bit.ly/X8NzwQ ) reports 18-year-old Deven Lane Stephens escaped a Mobile courtroom, ran from several officers and bondsmen and ran downtown Wednesday morning after his bail had been revoked. The man had not been placed in handcuffs.

Stephens was arrested on charges of manufacturing and trafficking methamphetamine and was also charged with burglary.

Police say they found the man hiding under a house in Chickasaw, just north of Mobile.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
