The former Madison Police officer facing 17 counts of sexual abuse will appear in court in March.
William Watson bonded out of the Limestone County Jail on a $300,000 bond Tuesday. Sheriff's Investigators arrested Watson following a grand jury indictment.
Investigators say Watson sexually abused four young girls.
Watson was placed on administrative leave. Police officials say he resigned from the department in August.
Watson will be arraigned March 12 at the Limestone County Courthouse in Athens.
