COBLE, TN (WSMV) -
A Hickman County community is in ruins Wednesday after deadly storms moved through the Midstate in the early morning hours.
In the small town of Coble, just off Interstate 40 near Centerville, at least 15 homes were rendered uninhabitable and law enforcement officials have even brought in prisoners to help clear debris with chainsaws.
A National Weather Service damage survey team assessed the destruction
in Hickman County and determined it was caused by an EF-2 tornado.
Sheriff Randal Ward said crews hope to have power restored to the community soon, but he didn't have an estimate of when that may be and said it likely wouldn't be before Thursday.
One woman broke an arm, but no serious injuries were reported in Coble despite the widespread damage.
