HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A Huntsville man was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation after a disturbance at a North Huntsville housing complex.
According to police, officers were called to 1940 Max Luther Drive for a disturbance call. Two residents at Lighthouse Volunteers of America home were in an argument in the lobby.
When officers arrived, one of the men reportedly punched a police officer, the ran into his room where he locked himself in the bathroom.
The man identified himself as a veteran as officers tried to coax him out of the bathroom. More units were called in, and at least 13 police cars responded.
Officers were able to get the man out of the bathroom, and he was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation. He could possibly be charged for assaulting an officer.
