Missing child found safe

A 12-year-old boy was found safe late Tuesday night after a brief search.

The Etowah Co. Sheriff's Department said Ricky Wayne Bice, 12, went missing in the woods near his home in the Egypt community. Deputies said Ricky was in the woods, near his house, playing prior to dark in an area he plays in regularly. He called his family from a cell phone stating he was lost in the woods.

When the cell phone stopped working, the family called deputies for help.

About 30 minutes after the sheriff's department notified FOX6, the boy was found safe.
