HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Huntsville Police said they arrested Lewis Gregory early Saturday morning in the parking lot of Ed White Middle School.
His charges include driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.
Police said they don't know what he was doing at the school. He is a boys' P.E. teacher at Ed White.
School leaders placed Gregory on leave Monday morning.
"When he was arrested he was in the parking lot of the school, and certainly there is not any activity that we would be aware of that would be sanctioned or taking place at that late hour," said Keith Ward, spokesman for Huntsville City Schools.
School leaders will review the investigation to determine whether to suspend Gregory or terminate him.
