PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

With the smooth cut of the scissors, Governor Robert Bentley and Fras'le leaders officially celebrated their expansion Friday in Prattville.

Until now Fras'le made disc brake pads. The company will continue to make that product but add a new line to the market; heavy-duty brake pad linings, crucial for big trucks, trains, planes and subways around the world. With this expansion the company president expects revenues to increase in short order.

"It has the potential to go up to 23, 25 million dollars a year," said Fras'le President/CEO Daniel Randon.

With this addition the company added 100 new employees to the payroll, and for one new employee, this is his last stop.

"My last stop, I hope," Cedric Harkins said with a smile.

Harkins says that only because he's happy here. Hired 6 months ago, Harkins is mighty grateful to be employed in this strugglling economy and hopes to retire at Fras'le. Harkins is 48 and an engineer, calling this opportunity 'a chance of a lifetime.'

"I'm grateful and I love the group of people who've been hired for this project," said Harkins.

Company leaders say the average for the new employees will be just short of 10 dollars an hour.

Harkins is not the only one who feels that way.

"Thank you for expanding in Prattville," said Governor Robert Bentley.

Fras'le established its Prattville plant just 4 years ago. If employees like Harkins have anything to do with it, the company will be in the River Region for many years to come.
