JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Two people died in a two car crash in Jackson County on Highway 71 at County Road 59.
The victims were 53-year-old Marlin Wayne Smith, of Dutton, and 60-year-old Bruce Lane Buttram, of Rainsville.
State troopers said the men were killed when the Chevy S10 Buttram was driving collided with another vehicle.
Buttram was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, and Smith, who was his passenger, also died. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
State troopers are still investigating the cause of the wreck, but they said alcohol was a factor.
