MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Schools in the Valley were on a two hour delay after the threat of severe weather overnight, but, fortunately, bad weather did not happen.
Officials with Huntsville City Schools said despite the lack of winter weather, they are glad they made the decision to delay school for safety reasons, and parents agree with them.
"I'd rather be safe than sorry. I'd hate to have to get up early and get the kids to school on icy roads or them be tardy - safe than sorry," said parent, Indya Moore.
School officials said students do not have to make up a delayed school day.
