DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
Decatur Police arrested a sex offender just weeks after he was released from jail for failure to comply.
Police said James Albert Watson was released from the Morgan County Jail on January 14. He was supposed to return within three days to register his address.
Watson did not register his address in the time frame. A warrant was issued for his arrest. He was located January 23 and arrested.
Watson has been arrested twice in less than two weeks for sex offender registration offenses.
Watson was convicted in 1986 of statutory rape and indecent liberties.
