According to Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, what started out as the serving of an eviction notice turned into an armed man barricading himself inside his apartment.

It started around 4:30 p.m. at the Boardwalk Place Apartments, just south of Denham Springs.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, does not have any hostages, but he is armed.

The special response team and Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office negotiators are on the scene. There have been no evacuations.
