FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

A crime where the victim got dragged by a car ended in an arrest in Florence.

Police arrested Xavier Cole for robbing a woman in a Walmart parking lot.

After identifying the suspect last week, investigators said they got a tip first thing Thursday morning with information on where Cole was located. Police said they took Cole into custody a short time later.

Investigators said Cole grabbed a woman's purse from her car, and she took off after him, and it was caught on video.

In the video, the man can be seen running out in front of a car, and the victim - who was chasing him - gets hit and then gets dragged several feet.

Investigators believe the car that hit the woman was the purse snatcher's accomplice. At this time charges are pending against the driver.

Police said they are happy to get this man off the streets.

"We're able to bring justice to a victim who was involved in a horrific robbery, ran over by a car and drug several feet. It's nice to bring justice in these situations," said Justin Wright with the Florence Police Department.

Cole was taken to the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $51,000 bond.
