BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) -
A 21-year-old man from Bibb County held up a Bessemer Waffle House with an AK-47 assault weapon this week, according to police.
Bessemer Police Lieutenant Darron Hunter said a white male stole a cash register from the store around 4:35 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21 at the Waffle House on Methodist Circle. No one was harmed in the incident.
On Jan. 23, detectives obtained a warrant to arrest Nicholas Lee Byram on a first degree robbery charge. Byrum was taken into custody at the Bessemer City Jail and was going to be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail, Lt. Hunter said.
