BRIMFIELD, OH (WOIO) -
Police say a drunk driver crashed into a swamp and was rescued by Brimfield Police Officers.
It happened on Wednesday. Officers say Danny Mallicoat drove into a business on SR 43. He then drove through the lot, beside the building, out of the lot and into the swamp.
Sgt. Knarr and Officer Putnam waded in and retrieved him from the vehicle.
Mallicoat apparently failed the field sobriety tests.
"The driver page homage to E.T. by following Sgt. Knarr's finger with his own finger instead of using his eyes....Land sakes!!" says Chief David Oliver.
Mallicoat also was chowing down on some tasty fried chicken when he drove into the swamp.
