HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A lot of people have a
heart for helping the homeless; just not many of them are quite as young as
this one girl.
Kyra Toles-White and her family dropped off
loads of clothing, toiletries, even money to the Village Marketplace on
Wednesday. It's a drop-off location for items to help the homeless.
Kyra turned seven years old on Sunday, and
she asked her birthday party guests to bring these items instead of presents
for her.
"Some of my friends
did it last year for their birthday and I just wanted to try it. Why does it
bother you? Why does it make you sad? I don't know. It's just that I don't like
that they have to sleep in tents and when it rains, I feel bad for them,"
Kyra said.
Kyra's step-mom says Kyra
even volunteered, taking food and clothing to a homeless camp.
