NC WEATHER: Few storms mix with 90s, humidity

Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. -

Yet another day below 90 in the Triangle Tuesday, but hotter weather and storms are in the forecast the rest of the week.

Tuesday stayed below 90 for most of central North Carolina.  The Triangle only made it up to 86 while Fayetteville made it up to 92.  The Triangle has still only had one day this month in the 90s.

This evening there could be a stray shower or storm, otherwise it will be mostly cloudy overnight with a low near 70.

Wednesday will be partly sunny, hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s.  A PM shower or storm can't be ruled out.  By Thursday highs could reach the middle 90s with partly sunny skies and a slight risk of a PM storm.

A cold front will approach central North Carolina on Friday, and with it will be a chance of scattered showers and storms.  Highs on Friday will be in the lower 90s.

By the weekend, temperatures will drop back into the 80s.  On Saturday, behind the cold front, the high will be 86 with a slight risk of a shower or thundershower.  Sunday should turn out partly sunny with highs in the middle 80s.  Monday looks nice with mostly sunny skies and a high of 83 expected.
