FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
A Lauderdale County man accused of making child pornography wants a judge to lower his bond.
Matthew Ayers, and his wife Patricia, face charges including child pornography, sexual abuse and rape. They are both in the Lauderdale County Detention Center with individual bonds set at $1-million.
Court documents state electronic equipment found at the couple's home on County Road 298 contained numerous pictures of a young girl being molested. Those documents stat Matthew Ayers was the individual performing the sexual acts on the child.
The bond reduction motion filed by Matthew Ayers attorney states Ayers cannot make the set bond amount. The motion requests bond be reduced to "an amount he can reasonably make".
Patricia and Matthew Ayers are expected in court February 4.
