HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Groups for and against the historic Roe v. Wade decision held rallies in Huntsville Monday afternoon.
Pro-life groups gathered for the 14th annual "Stand for Life" rally on the eve of the decision's 40th anniversary on the eastside steps of the Madison County Courthouse.
Pro-choice groups held a counter protest following the "Stand for Life" rally. The activists waved
signs and demonstrated along Madison Street.
Their rally happened at
almost the same time that pro-life activists worked to get out the word about
their cause at the Madison County Courthouse.
Both sides said they have
an important message to get out.
Both sides rallied on the
eve of the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark 1973 ruling on
abortion.
